Big Boar is owned by Eden Natural Pork Producers Dave and Karen Toot, on a farm outside of Des Moines, IA. Dave didn't have the heart to send the boar to market when he didn't win top weight in the 2004 Iowa State Fair, so he took him back home for another year. He did, however, win the following year, with a whopping weigh in of 1088 pounds. Today, Big Boar has won the right to retire in free range luxury, all the way into the wee years of old age.
